Interaction & Interface Design

A mobile application to help users find places to exercise. Involved a series of iterations starting from thumbnail analog sketches and screen designs, utilizing core design principles to establish hierarchy, focus, and contrast with Web Contrast Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) compliance. Then, interaction flow was mapped out through task flows, wire flows, and a broader information architecture (IA). A single flow of interaction was then expanded upon in a high-fidelity Figma prototype, utilizing layout grids and components to establish visual consistency.
To achieve a consistent visual appearance, icons
were designed with consistent forms and sizes,
including variants.
These icons were turned into components, and
integrated into dynamic map symbols through
a filtering popup.
With auto-layouts, visual consistency is maintained across screens, guiding the user experiences. This allows someone to more easily navigate throughout the interface, and identify core functionality.
By working across multiple components with variants, the design functions beyond a visual representation, and allows for some responsive interactions. For example, depending on what the user selects within the prototype, the Figma screen will respond differently according to altered states based on variables.
